Phil joined the band in 2008 full time after 22 years with the Honolulu Symphony. He received his B. Mus. and M. Mus. degrees from Juilliard and also studied in Paris. His credits include playing with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Austin Symphony and the Daejeon Philharmonic in South Korea. He is a former faculty member of the University of Texas and Aspen Music Festival and has given master classes at conservatories throughout China. Phil has performed at numerous other summer music festivals (Spoleto, Assisi, Orvieto, Vadstena, Grand Teton and Oregon Coast, to name a few) and travels to Portland regularly to play with the Oregon Renaissance Band. He is also a member of the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra.
